COMPETITIONS

Abe is collaborating with Resident Advisor for a remix comp for his and Blake Baxter's classic "What Happened?". He's also collaborated with DJ mag (UK) and Groove (Germany) to offer two people each a day each in a studio in London and Berlin.

The DJ mag / UK comp has closed but Groove is still open, and the RA remix comp started only late Aug. Check out the competition page to enter (that's also where you join to get freebies like dj mixes, free tracks and remix kits...)

Or you can join the list right here.

WHO IS ABE DUQUE?

Abe Duque's father was a gifted musician and evangelical minister. That's where Abe first got the music from. He discovered DJing in the 80’s. Obsessed with vinyl and electronic dance music production, he bought his first synthesizer with money from a newspaper route and played his keyboard in his father's church.

Then in the 90s, Abe became the keyboardist for the then techno supergroup Program2. In 1993 he started his record label TENSION - a shining light that illuminated the way for new possibilities in electronic music. Stuff so twisted that not even Abe claims not to understand.

And along the way he's been resident a NYC's club-kid paradise Limelight - and a US marine. He co-founded Rapture Records with John Selway. His own label Abe Duque Records has had major success with tracks like Champagne Days, Cocaine Nights and What Happened.

And there's the madness of techno supergroup Rancho Relaxo.

Abe has worked under a few different names such as: Abe Duque, Kirlian, Super Secret Symphony, Facil, and released Tresor, Imago, State of mind, Warner Bros, Disko-b, Gigolo, Oval, V2, Vortex, Sähkö, Mainframe, Instinct, GiG, Tension, Abuse, Mille Plateaux, Sonic Groove & Rapture. He's worked with Richard Dorfmeister, Jimmy Tenor, Blake Baxter, John Selway, Patrick Pulsinger and DJ Hell.

His new album Don't be so mean hits July 1.
